Working for a band has always been a dream of mine! I spent most of my teenage years going to ska & punk shows and being a pseudo-roadie for my friends’ bands. So when I (unknowingly…I’ll get to that later) got the opportunity to design a graphic tee for a band from New Orleans, I jumped at it. The success of the first shirt design prompted Cowboy Mouth to reach out for two more shirt designs, then the cover for a Christmas LP, then cover art for multiple singles and soon a full cover album cover!

The story…
How did I unknowingly land Cowboy Mouth? The simple answer: the drummer/lead singer’s wife. The longer answer: I did a logo project for said wife and she was so impressed that she asked me to design a graphic tee that was based on a shirt he already owned (see below). Little did I know I was designing this shirt for the lead singer of Cowboy Mouth… until I (admittedly) Facebook stalked his wife once I finished the project and got the biggest shock of my life! The band was so impressed that they hired me to design more merch and cover art for their singles.
